About Us
The Chateau de Lis was built on 135 acres that served as a berry farm until the 1970’s and then a cattle
ranch until the property was sold in 2009. The home was conceived as a heritage property and eventual
retreat for a large family gatherings consisting of parents, six children and several grandchildren, great
grandparents and extensive aunts, uncles and cousins. It was constructed to reflect and embody the
family lifestyle of its occupants, with incredible creativity, quality, and old-world charm. In fact, the
construction motto was “make it look like a 300-year-old castle” complete with quirks and
“imperfections.”

The Chateau includes six themed suites, a fully muraled dining room, Great Room with walk-in fireplace and stunning stone floors throughout. Extensive and beautiful landscaping is on-going and surrounds the Chateau, along with incredible stonework, fountains, lakeside gazebo, pure limestone terrace and a magnificent stone bridge, just to name a few of its many features. An additional three-acre lake surrounded by an old-growth Douglas fir grove offers another pristine, artistic setting east of the Chateau.
Today the family wishes to open their doors to the various artists, organizations and groups that would like to experience this one-of-a-kind venue that will make you feel like you just experienced a trip to Europe without the plane ride. Come and enjoy the Chateau de Lis, a unique and stunning jewel 25 minutes from downtown Portland, Oregon.
